Orks vs. Covenant

Description

Hoping to be better received then UNSC/Dark Eldar!

Orks: Also known as the green-skins; this crude, barbaric and war-loving race is vast in size and simple in it's desires. All any Ork wants to do is fight. And fight. AND FIGHT! Blastin' and Bombin' and Shootin' away as they crump the offa races beneath their mighty boot. Heck, Orks enjoying killing other Orks as much as they do anyone else. Any fight is a good fight in an Orks eyes. It has been speculated that were the Orks ever to unite as a single racial entity, they would undoubtedly crush any opposition that would dare to stand against such a tsunami of green muscle.

Covenant: A mighty empire made up of several races united in a shared belief, the Covenant run on a cast system: Prophets, Elites, Brutes, Drones, Grunts, Jackals, Hunters, Engineers, etc. Their faith was so strong, that those that were non-compliant with their beliefs would often face a genocidal war in retaliation. One of the most powerful military force in the known Milky Way galaxy, the Covenant sought to activate the Halo Array, believing it would allow them to transcend mortality.

Now these two warlike races will be faced with a battle to the death on a hapless planet. Boyz will face Grunts, Elites will take on Nobz, and all manner of WAAAGH! like behavior as the faithful of the Winding Way try to convert the Green Skins. Will they be successful? That's for you to decide as you tell me...

WHO! IS! DEADLIEST!

*(Because I know this will pop up if I say nothing: No space battles. Planet-side only.)

(Disclaimer: Just to be clear, these two combatants were created / are owned by people far more creative / wealthier then me. I have made this, not for profit, but in the hopes of encouraging spirited discussion among fans. Please support the combatants official series. Thank you, that is all).

I doubt that anyone will see this comment since the publication is very old but I have to argue. I saw that most of the arguments in favor of the orks are their numbers and reproduction by spores, but for me it is not the biggest advantage, in fact, I see it as not very useful against the covenant. Most Covenant weapons are plasma ammunition, that would burn the spores that the orks produce. A simple grunt could wipe out future generations of orks with a plasma pistol. If a plasma pistol could take down a few ork spores, imagine shots from a wraigth or scarab. They will tell me, "well, yes, but if the prkos escape, they could infect other areas of a planet" and that's where another advantage of the covenant comes in, crystallization, unlike the exterminatus of the empire, crystallization affects the area around it, and not It is necessary to kill the entire planet, only certain areas. The Covenant could even use patrols armed with large plasma weapons as fuel cannons and wipe out ork-infected areas, they could even use scarabs to literally sweep ork-infected fields. As for the gargants and the rest of the ork titans, I think that a scarab or several in the worst case scenario would be capable of destroying or at least leaving an ork gargant badly damaged. In space and atmosphere, as far as I can remember, Ork airships and capital ships don't have energy shields, while the Covenant do. I think a banshe, both atmospheric and space, could take down several ork ships before going down, same with capital ships, if the UNSC ships, which are armored with titanium, stronger than mere scrap metal, are literally, melted down. For the Covenant plasma, what could a simple Ork junk ship do? I don't know if it would be comparative, but I think that even the ork meteors (or at least some) would be destroyed by the anti-aircraft units of the covenant, they have done it with the deployment pods of the ODSTs, so there wouldn't be that much difference. Speaking of your power of imagination, I will give an example of how it also harms the orks, as I remember, commissioner yarrick, the most respected human by the orks, lived so long, it was because the orks helped him with their power of imagination and extending a little his life. I will give an example of what could happen with the orks and the covenant. "A horde of orks is in close combat with the brutes, the orks realize the incredible strength and melee ability of these primates, they see them as warriors worthy of a fight and they believe them to be the most powerful soldiers they can find." has the covenant. Out of nowhere the brutes start to feel stronger and regain energy" Conclusion? a draw
